Missing a synthetic step in the "Tagged Web Requests" dashlet

Hello,

I'm using the following custom script:

dynaTraceHeader_value = "NA=" + script.steps[external.currentStepIdx].description + ";PC=" + script.name +";SN=" + script.name;

var addHeaders = new AddEventHookCommand({
"eventType": "sendingRequest",
"name": "getHTTP",
"handler":"request.replaceHeader('dynaTrace',dynaTraceHeader_value)"});

addHeaders.execute();

After replay, I can see the following headers added to the requests

Step1:

dynaTrace: NA=GUI_Launch;PC=GUI-Access Edge-Login CF;SN=GUI-Access Edge-Login CF

Step2:

dynaTrace: NA=GUI_EnterSecureArea;PC=GUI-Access Edge-Login CF;SN=GUI-Access Edge-Login CF

Step3:

dynaTrace: NA=GUI_Login;PC=GUI-Access Edge-Login CF;SN=GUI-Access Edge-Login CF

Step4:

dynaTrace: NA=GUI_Logout;PC=GUI-Access Edge-Login CF;SN=GUI-Access Edge-Login CF

I'm able to to see 3 out of four steps in the "Tagged Web Requests" dashlet.

Step # 3 is always missing.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Leo

Hi Leo,

I am moving your question to AppMon Forum so they can help with your question about why step 3 is not displayed in the "Tagged Web Requests" dashlet in dT client.

Hi

i would try to run your script for a single user and go to the web requests dashlet.

Search for the URL of step 3.

If it doesn't appear, it means that for some reason the request never makes it to your server or alternatively there is an exclusion rule somewhere which hides the request.

For exclusions, go to your profile and select the agent group mapped to your web server (or application server if you haven't got a web server). If it is a web server, find the web server sensor group and click on properties. Check that no URL have been added in the exclusion table.

For java, use the servlets sensor group and asp.net for .net systems.

If you can see the web request but it isn't tagged then review your script as something might "break" the header like a quote in the wrong place.

Regards
