Missing permission for directory D:\Program Files\dynaTrace\DynaTrace 7.0\server\sessions\stored\PRD\20170829013444_0.t0.session

Hi All,

I am getting the missing permissions for writing the sessions alert after I have upgraded my Dy

natrace from 6.3 to 7.0
I was using D:\Program Files\dynaTrace\dynaTrace 6.3\server\sessions\stored for storing sessions.
I did not change this path for two days after upgrade also used the same session path.
I have observed that I am getting missing permissions alert and because of which some of the sessions are not getting stored.

The sessions size of each folder would be 5GB around before upgrade.
But after upgrade ,the sessions size of each folder is around 3GB before upgrade.

I have renamed the session storage path as D:\Program Files\dynaTrace\DynaTrace 7.0\server\sessions\stored
And renamed my actual folder also.

MAy I please know how to resolve it.
Should I change permission of the folder.
How it was working fine before upgrade

Thanks & regards
Karthikayini M

Hello Karthikayini,

Follow the steps from the below link for the missing permissions on file system for the session storage.

HI Babar,

Went through the link you have provided.

According to my understanding, the we do not have any reserved disk space for any system profile.

The storage path have 300 GB more space. So I think , disk space and allocation would not be a problem.

Should I change any permission in security tab for the entire D folder.

attached storage path and free space ,used space details.

Any other troubleshooting will help me?

Kindly suggset.

Thanks & regards

Hello Karthikayini,

Exactly. Make sure that the account using for the Dynatrace Server e.g. 'Local Service' or anyone else should have a full access on the drive.

HI Babar,

Thanks for the reply.

One weird thing I have observed is, The missing alerts are coming for the November 9th sessions. Not for the current sessions. It is not going to affect anything? As the Dynatrace will write today`s data to today`s session folder . So not having permissions on November 9th folder wont affect anything.

I missed to see the session file name and the corresponding dates so far.

Attaching the screenshots.

Hope I do not have much to worry if I am right.

Thanks & regards
