To monitor Database connections and other metrics on AWS RDS, what needs to be done?

You have to install oneagents on all hosts that contains processes that are calling your RDS DB. Only from this point dB transactions are monitored (jdbc, ado..net etc)

We have installed agent on the machine where the app is hosted. Say 2 Apps are accessing the DB, how to know how many connections are being used by which App, slowest queries for each app, etc.

If you want monitor connection pool you should use JMX plugin if it is JAVA:

Would it be possible to share a sample plugin.json for monitoring Oracle DB Connections?
