Monitor Java & Scripting

Hello everyone,

I was wondering what steps I should follow to monitor a custom Java application I created a few months ago (this is for research rather than production purposes).

I was also wondering what is the support for the following scripting languages:

  1. Perl
  2. Python
  3. Ruby

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Fabio

For your custom java application it depends on the type of application (Webapp, GUI Client, ....). You could just instrument it with the appmon agent using the appmon free trail and see what you get.

The scripting languages you mentioned are not supported, there are no agents for them.

Hello everyone,

I have just come across these links:

I am now wondering if these features are available for AppMon or is it only for Dynatrace Saas (Ruxit)?

Regards,

Fabio

Hey Fabio,

Those links you provided are implying use of Dynatrace SaaS/Managed (not AppMon). As far as I am aware, Perl, Python, and Ruby are not supported in AppMon, and are not on the roadmap.

Thanks,

Matt

Hey Matt,

that is really cool.

I am now wondering if it is worth getting a pay-as-you-go subscription for SaaS and use AppMon for technologies like Java and PHP...

Have a good day,

Fabio
