Monitoring long running hybris cronjobs

siegfried_schue
Newcomer

We have long running hybris cronjobs (f.ex. 3 hours for a full export of articles/categories to Solr; 2 hours for full offline stock update). With the hybris fastpack a purepath is started by CronJob.perform(). This results in timeouts/too long purepaths in order to get monitored properly by DT.

Is there any best practice how to monitor such long running jobs? Should we disable the fastpack sensors and replace them by some more specific ones?

@Reinhard B.: Maybe you have already experienced similar challenges? (btw: nice to see you again)

Regards

Siegfried

Hello Siegfried,

Increasing the PurePaths timeout and putting unnecessary loads on the Dynatrace Server you can create a separate PurePath for each logical unit of work within the job instead of capturing the entire job in a single, long, complex PurePath.

Check the following post for better understanding.
