RFE - Neo4j Sensor for AppMon

Hi All,

We are aware that with Saas & Managed we can get the insights about Neo4j database. Do you have any plans to include a Sensor pack for Neo4j database. We already tried instrumenting the Neo4j database with Appmon Java agent as the database is running on Java but it just showing only a piece of information like the entry point and loading of the servlet.

So posting an RFE for enhancement.

Thanks

Hi Sakthri,

I don't know if there are any official plans on the roadmap for this, but just looked at neo4j a little and it does seem that a fastpack could potentially be created for it.

Have you tried creating custom entry points either with CPU sampling or "shotgun" instrumentation to see what PurePaths you can pick up?

Have you seen these older posts?

HTH,

Thanks Dave for your response. Will try to generate few CPU samples. I'm not able to access the link you posted. Will see what I can get from the CPU Samples.

The posts unfortunately are both on internal forums. Email me at "dave dot mauney at dyntrace dot com" if you want me to send more information (session file, sensor group, etc).

Hi. Just wondering if the information you shared via email helped you moving forward with instrumenting neo4j?

Hi Andreas, We are still testing the sensor pack. We will update you here the outcome once we complete our testing. Thank You

Hi Andreas, We are using a latest version of Neo4j 3.1. We see the implementation of Neo4j got changed to fetch the data. So we don't see the methods included in the sensor pack are invoked.

https://neo4j.com/developer/cypher-query-language/#_about_cypher

We found the REST endpoint/webservice from the purepath tree and we created a custom sensor for the method and we are able to capture the query. Attached the screenshot and sensor pack we created to this thread. Thank You
