Setting up Proxy Servers with IIS

Hello!

We have two sets of documentations on setting up proxy servers with Apache. I'm trying to set one up from the collector to the DT server.

https://community.dynatrace.com/community/display/DOCDT65/Set+up+Proxies

https://community.dynatrace.com/community/display/DOCDT65/Set+up+a+Forward+or+Reverse+Proxy

I haven't seen anything about doing this with IIS instead of Apache, has anyone done this, or does anyone have recommendations on how I'd go about it?

Hey Kayan,

I'm a little confused, are you trying to set up App Mon to use a proxy server or just trying to configure a proxy server? If it's the latter you might want to take a look at this link from Microsoft.

Hope this helps,

Dan

Hey Dan! Thanks for the reply, I'm trying to configure a proxy server - it should route traffic from the collector to the server. I've looked at this link: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/carlosag/2010/04/01/setting-up-a-reverse-proxy-using-iis-url-rewrite-and-arr/ which is setting up a reverse proxy, which is what I think I need, but I don't know how to set it up such that it maps to the DT server and collector. Any insight?

Hmm sorry I'm not exactly sure. I think you would have to set up a route on the proxy but to be honest I haven't had any experience setting up a proxy server before. I would think you need to set it up so that the collector connects to port X on the proxy and that gets forwarded to 6698 on the dynatrace server.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
