Switching to new server machine - license management?

We are migrating our AppMon 7.0 server to a new machine. We are just going to switch hard disk drive and everything should be working well. How is it with the license? Is it attached to some particular hardware/software component, like hostname, mac adress?

Hi David,

yes, it's tied to the hostname. The mechanism to migrate is to deactivate the license, then move, then activate on the new host. Best regards,

Thank you. Will it work if I deactivate it in my eServices Account list of licenses, or do I have to do it manually before we switch to the new machine? The new machine will have same Hostname, same IP address, just different MAC address.

if it has the same hostname you don't need to deactivate anything.

If you change the hostname too... will i need to deactivate from eservice or from the client (console)?

or is it the same....?

Process is the same even if you deactivate from the console it will ask you to provide the eservices account information.
