UEM Cookies (dtcookie) expiration date


Hello everyone,

I was recently confronted to an issue i couldn't find an answer anywhere.

legal services warned us that they deem dynatrace UEM cookies as non compliant with the incoming RGPD 2018 EU directive because they're set to never expire (it's set before epoch)

Do you have confirmation on this matter ? Is there a way to set the duration of the UEM cookie ?

I looked a little at this and they should be set to expire at the end of the session - if you look at the cookies in Firefox developer tools this is what you see, it is only in Chrome that it uses that 1969 date. I'm not sure if that would be a Chrome bug but I found one recent post where someone was trying to figure out why that date was being shown if the default of no expiration date is used - but I imagine it actually is expiring when the browser closes.
