What is the difference between Max and Last in aggregation. ? Please explain with example.!

Imagine that you're measuring the disk utilization (in %) of a host. You get these measurements:

08:13 ............. 13%

08:15 .............. 15%

08:17 ............... 75%

08:23 ................. 93%

08:56 .................. 20%

In this example, the aggregations for the hour between 08:00 and 09:00 are
min ..... 13%

max ...... 93%

last ...... 20%

avg ....... 42.2 % (although probably pointless in this case)

sum ...... pointless

note that not all the aggregations are useful for all the different measures.

Thanks for the explanation.

Attached incident created on based on JVM memory utilization.

Please suggest what value should i use for :

1 Check for every 15min

2 Threshold 92%

3 Alert should be sent whenever JVM Memory exceeds 92%.

In this case you want to use the maximum aggregation.
