What is the difference between Rich Client and Portable Client

Hi All,

I am using Portable Client. What is the difference between Rich Client and Portable Client.

Am I loosing any feature as I use only portable Client.

Hello Karthikayini,

Portable Client, that you don't need to install and Rich Client, you will have to install before using.

Secondly, you can access more than 1 Dynatrace Server with the Rich Client but with Portable Client only 1.

Babar I think portable client will work for multiple servers as well. I think you thought about WebStart client which is starting from particular server and than it works only with that one.

I have read both. Hope I am not loosing any kind of extra features by using portable client.

Drill down features and all cockpit properties are same.

Features are the same between all clients (Portable/Installed/Webstart). Only thing you miss in webstart is accessing multiple servers, as mentioned above.

From experience, I can say that a rich client works better with large analyzes where it may be necessary to increase the allocated RAM for client.
