What would be Dynatrace Server and Collector hardware configuration to accommodate 62 JVMs from existing 26 JVMs in Dynatrace 6.0 ?

Hi,

We are currently using Dynatrace 6.0 monitoring 26 JVMs and 5 Webservers for one of our client. We are planning to Migrate to Dynatrace 6.5 .

But as of now we need to monitor another 36 JVMs (i.e Total 62 JVMs and 11 Webservers) in Dynatrace 6.0 and then planning to migrate to Dynatrace 6.5 .

We had a Dynatrace Server machine with Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit , 3 processor(12 core) of 2.40GHz, 24 GB RAM and 1 TB hard disk (which can store purepath only upto 1.5 days) in xLarge configuration.

And two Dynatrace collector machine(App Collector and Web collector) with Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit , 2 processor(4 core) of 2.40GHz, 8 GB RAM.

Please suggest appropiate Dynatrace Server and Collector hardware configuration to accommodate 62 JVMs and 11 webservers.

Regards,

Balaji

Hello Balaji,

There are certain considerations but I always like the deployment sizing calculator. Please check the below link:

Also watch the below Performance Clinic for best practice of sizing and deployment. A really helpful guide lines.
