Which Appmon agents have to be restarted after update



We are planning to do an update (from Appmon 6.5.2 to 6.5.33) and I would like to know which type of agents have to be manually restarted in order to apply the new version.

I guess at the end of the setup wizard steps, Web Server agents have to be restarted (both Primary-Web Server Agent and Web Server itself, in that order) but it's not clear if java and .net agents have to be manually restarted too, or is not needed because the wizard itself does the restart.

All agents have to be restarted for the upgrade to take effect. Until then, they will still be on the 6.5.2 version in your case.

The wizard does not have the ability to restart Java agents.



To be clear though - the older agents will still work find when connected to the updated components. There's no problem with waiting until a scheduled restart for the updates on the agents to take effect.

Also remember that from the Agents Overview, you can select certain Agent Types and select "Restart Agents". If the option is greyed out, then that agent type does not support restarting and the monitored process will need to be rebooted to receive the update. You may select All agents listed in Agents Overview and select "Restart Agents", and AppMon will restart the ones it can, and skip over the ones it can't.
