The mobile ADK 188.8.131.5268 is implemented in our mobile app. Now we want to upgrade to Dynatrace Server 6.5. The latest ADK 184.108.40.2063 can be implemented only after may 2017. Meanwhile I'll be sure that new ADK's will be released.
How many versions of the ADK's are supported for backwards compatibility?
Not sure 100% but from 6.1 onward and before any major release e.g. 7+, the ADKs should be compatible backwards.
Someone from the development team can more clear for us.
Here's the link to the Agent Compatability Matrix on the Documentation that should hopefully answer your questions -> https://community.dynatrace.com/community/display/...
Your 6.1 agents should work on 6.1/6.2/6.3 and 6.5 collectors.
As you can't force all users to update to the latest release of a mobile App there always will be old agents out there. Therefore all mobile agent versions are still supported and currently there is no plan to drop support of old mobile agents in AppMon.
So old mobile agent + new server should never be a problem.
In other direction it depends on the protocol used by the mobile agent - so if that did not change an older server can handle newer agents. e.g. a 6.2 Server can handle 6.3 mobile agents, but not 6.5 mobile agents as there was a protocol change with 6.5. A 6.5 Server also can handle 7.0 mobile agents as they use the same protocol.
