Windows agent installation without execute the .msi

Hi all,

my customer asks me if it's possible to intall the Java and .NET agents in a Windows environment without running the .msi installable, simply making a copy of an installation done on another machine.

Is that possible? The .Net Configuration Tool will work in this scenario?

Instalator on windows creates some environment variables and Services as well. There are also some entries in Register as I remember. I think it may be possible but hard to manage.

Hi Sebastian,

thanks! Si it's not recommended...

I think a bigger question is why would you not want to run the simple installer? Seems like a lot more work to ensure all the pieces are properly placed and objects created. Perhaps there's a use case we've not encountered?
