Hello Praveen,

Starting "Jboss 7" or "Jboss EAP 6", Jboss has stopped the support for exposing connection pool statistics via JMX beans. If you want to use the dynaTrace JMX based measure to monitor your datasource usage/statistics you wont be able to do so.

This plugin will help you capture the datasource statistics in "Jboss 7" or "Jboss EAP 6" using the new REST based Jboss management console. Once you capture the measure you can chart on the data.

Thanks Babar, I understood about JBOSS 7/6.

So, can we capture the JBOSS above listed metrics for JBOSS 4.2.3

Hello Praveen,

As per the previous statement that Jboss has stopped the support for exposing connection pool statistics (6 and above) then it should be supported for the existing versions.

The system is not with me right now otherwise I could check on my end to provide you the correct answer.

My be someone else will endorse.

Babar

Hi Hello Praveen,

Please see the release notes: https://community.dynatrace.com/community/pages/vi...

JBoss 4.x is not supported by AppMon 6.5.

Best

Harry

Hi Harry,

I could see they have mentioned JBoss 5.x , so this means even Jboss 4.x is not supported ?

On overall any JBoss 4/5/6/7 version is not supported. If we want to capture datasource metrics is there any official JBOSS plugin - if so which version of JBOSS does it support?

Hi,

Only JBoss 6+ is supported out of the box by AppMon, including datasource metrics.
If a metric is missing, you may define custom JMX metrics to get the desired value.

I am no aware that there is any plugin that supports JBoss 4.x, as it is completely outdated.

Best

Harry
