how to make agentpath work for JBoss Fuse OSGi application

peijun_zhou1

I am instrumenting JBoss Fuse 6.2 with Dynatrace 6.3. JBoss fuse have a bin command "setenv", where I put the agentpath into EXTRA_JAVA_OPTS. When open JBoss fuse management console, all the web requests purepath can be captured by dynatrace. But when I run a sample application as OSGi bundle, the purepath of this application can't be captured. It seems like agentpath doesn't take effect for the application. Anybody has such kind of experience to make agentpath work for OSGi bundle application? Appreciated for your help.

Have you tried to set the JAVA_OPTS environment variable? AFAIK JAVA_OPTS is always evaluated by any JVM that launches.

Hi Andi

You are correct. Initially we tried

XTRA_JAVA_OPTS, which hooked but missed a lot of methods then we changed it to extra java opts and it worked.

Tried JAVA_OPTS and it works. Thanks Andreas.

Great to hear 🙂

Hi. Peijun. So did it work for you with Fuse ESB (getting full Purepaths)?

Hi, Michael. It worked with Fuse ESB. But need to define custom entry points, otherwise can't get purepath.
