is connection between appmon server 7.2 and db server (MSSQL) secured?

I want to understand if the connection between AppMon server and my database server is secured?

I am connecting from the AppMon Server to my DB server on port 2704. JDBC connection.

If it is a non-ssl connection, how do I make the connection secured?

PS: Both the servers (AppMon server and DB server) are in same VLAN. It is a MSSQL server.

Best Regards

Thuhin

Hello @Thuhin D.

You can use the SSL connection.

Have a look on the below link for Performance Warehouse administration.

Hi Babar, Thanks for your response.

If I have to enable this check box, do I need to restart my DB service and AppMon Server service?

Thanks!

Thuhin

Hello @Thuhin D.

Honestly, I am not sure but most of the time service restart is required and it must be considered religiously in case of Windows platform 🙂

Thuhin, The SSL checkbox is strictly defining how AppMon initiates the connection to SQLServer. SQLserver does not need to be restarted as AppMon is the one initiating the connection. This assumes that SQLServer is already willing to accept SSL connections.

You should not need to restart AppMon Server. Simply ensure you are disconnected from SQLServer, check the "Require SSL" checkbox, ensure the rest of the parameters are correct, and select "Test Connection".
