monitoring applications filter normal user

In dynatrace, you have the monitoring option, where some default dashboards are provided to follow up your applications.
Developer teams have tried to work with these (prefer to use out-of-the-box dashboards) but complain that they are limited to the options provided by monitoring dashboards. There is no "edit filter" available.

For administrators, you can activate debug-modus to have the edit-filter option, but for people with user profile this is not possible.

Is there a way to make the edit-filter available for normal users OR another way to monitor applications out-of-the-box ?

Thanks

Monique

Hi Monique,

the idea behind the monitoring dashboards is to be able to drill down quickly to an area/problem so allowing people to change the filters would break the whole thing.

Under the covers it is applying business transaction filters to narrow down the data set. At least that's the case for the application side of things. For the infrastructure, it is obviously filtering by host name!

Once you get past the top level dashboards (if you reach method hotspots for instance), we then use standard dashboards so as long as they are opened directly via the cockpit, they should be able to apply any filter they require.
