Can any one please explain what does pool threshold execution in the below snap mean .

I did read the documentation but am not clear even then. Also the execution time mentioned in the snap for pool threshold execution is average of all the queries or does it mean something else?

Please help.

Regards,

Gopikrishnan

Hello Gopikrishnan,

This is related to distinct sqls seen for one distinct connection pool, the overflowing statements are summarized in a "[pool-thresholded executions]" summary counter.

The default is 1000. Please see the below link.

Thanks Babar,

But what are those statements? Does it mean other than the queries listed below pool threshold executions there are more 15037 executions of some queries not mentioned in the list? and what does 15037 X 1000 mean ?

Regards,

Gopikrishnan

Hello Gopikrishnan,

Limit of distinct sql statements that will be counted individually (on an instrumented node level). After reaching the threshold, only the count of executions of the overflowing statements is counted. So, if there are more distinct sqls seen for one distinct connection pool, the overflowing statements are summarized in a "[pool-thresholded executions]" summary counter.

Database aggregation is enabled by default.

Babar

So as per in the documentation in the link

https://community.dynatrace.com/community/display/...

the default value is 1000. How to change this value. How to set value for "optionJDBCAggregationPoolThresholdJava" and where to set it?

Hello Gopikrishnan,

Which version of APM you have?

Regards,

Babar

The version is 6.3

Hello Gopikrishnan,

The available tuning options are implemented as Agent Options, and can thus be configured using AppMon Client, or by appending them to the agent option string (the same way as debug flags).

  • Enable the debug mode on the client to press Ctrl+Shift+F9
  • Open the system profile
  • Select the agent mapping in the tier
  • Select the Agent
  • Click on Debug
  • Select agent options
  • Click on + button and enter the agent option name and value as per your desire.

I hope this should help.

Regards,

Babar
