Currently not possible. PM already has it on their list - https://community.dynatrace.com/community/display/...

As Roman already mentioned, not feasible at the moment but we have it on our list 🙂 Workaround could be a shared guest account to login.

I have a used a trick which works for Chrome and firefox but fails on IE.

Create a read only account with only access to the dashboard you want to make visible and use this type of link:

http://admin:admin@localhost:8020/rest/management/...

As you can see you can prefix the URL with the username and password so in this instance admin/admin.

As long as people use this link, they shouldn't have to login.

Obviously the above link points to one of my dashboards so you will have to adjust it accordingly

I hope this helps.

This can be done thru web dashboards and works in IE. However it still requries the username/password to be passed on the URL, so a suitably privileged dedicated login account is recommended.

Hi,

is this issue fix into 6.5 version ?

We are faced also with that limitation, I studied also AppMon User management in order to establis read only account es recommended workaround

"...Create a read only account with only access to the dashboard..."

But we did not managed this. Which set of role/permission will this solve.

Hi @Thomas S.,

At my company, we have created a user in AppMon's rich client (version 6.5) that has access to view Dynatrace Web as a permission. If you do the same, then you can pass that info in the URL.

Then when you have a dashboard in Dynatrace Web that is shared to everyone, you can pass that username and password as a query string. Here's an example of one of ours:

https:/<dt server host/ip>:9911/index.jsp?username=<username>&password=<password>#dashboard;db=xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxxx

The "?username=<username>&password=<password>" is the important piece. Set this to whatever username and password you have created for this purpose.

More documentation explaining it here: https://community.dynatrace.com/community/display/...

Please let me know if you have questions or need help!

Kind regards,

Joshua P.

Thanks for your hint, our security colleages are not amused about pw in URL ;-( but nevertheless if used account can only read this source they will accept.

Which role in details will be assigned to that read only account "... access to view Dynatrace Web as a permission..." I struggle with that topic

Which AppMon version are you on? There are different permissions depending on the version.

Our used versions is 6.5.01289

Then I believe the permission you are looking for is "Use System Profile in Dynatrace Web".

I gave the "Business" user account the permissions of the Out-of-the-box "User" role and it includes the above.
