Failed to get data from AWS Cloudwatch metrics on another region

Hi All,

We have an activegate in aws region, but one of the aws services (directconnect) resides on a different region. While we see the entities described in Dynatrace after defining the services, we don't see the metrics.

Logs wise we have no errors on the activegate. Is anyone using directconnect from a different region and have succeeded in getting its metrics?

@gilgi Have you added that AWS Service to the Dynatrace account? We have seen this with S3 Buckets where is the AWS construct isn't part of the Dynatrace Service account you wont get the detailed metrics.

@ChadTurner ,

of course. There were issues both with some firewall between active gates and the AWS CloudWatch metrics, and also some internal aws definitions missing. eventually we were able to work through it. One thing to note:

If you Activegate resides in a DC where Dynatrace has no presence, getting the cloud watch metrics will be done from a remote DC and not from the local end point of that region.
