Running a standalone oneAgent on a kubernetes host

Good morning,

I used to be possible to deploy a oneAgent on a host where kubernetes was running. No all I read is, run oneAgent in a Pod.

Simple question, is running OA in a Pod just to better manage oneAgent as part of the K8 eco system, or is the oneAgent on the host not supported anymore?
