Good afternoon, everyone.
I need to obtain the Dynatrace Associate Certification. I am Brazilian and speak Portuguese, and I had a communication issue during the pre-exam. I was informed that I need an accommodation because I don't speak English. Does anyone know how I can do this? Is there a phone number or support contact that I can reach out to for assistance?

Oi @CelsoCP , tudo bem?
Você precisa abrir um ticket para o time de University e solicitar a acomodação:
Dynatrace is committed to ensuring its exams are accessible to everyone, including those individuals who may require accommodation. If you believe you require an accommodation to access this exam, please create a support ticket to request assistance.
https://university.dynatrace.com/faq?content=certification

Hi @CelsoCP , good day.
You should open a ticket to Dynatrace University team in order to request for this accommodation, as per their FAQ. https://university.dynatrace.com/faq?content=certification
By default, all proctors speak english only, I imagine that with the ticket, they will schedule a Portuguese speaker to proceed with the pre-exam validation with you.
Please do open the ticket and let us know how was.

Hello @dannemca, how are you?
Thank you for responding and trying to help me with my question, but I just received a response from Dynatrace support, and unfortunately, there is no accommodation for languages.
I even asked why they mention that the exams are available in multiple languages if, in order to pass the pre-exam, you need to speak English.
On their website, it states (accommodation - https://university.dynatrace.com/faq?content=certification) that "Dynatrace is committed to ensuring that its exams are accessible to everyone," but unfortunately, this is not true, as I have been trying to take the exam for almost 2 months now, and I can't get past the pre-exam while asking for help and not getting any from Dynatrace. In my last exam, I managed to speak with the Examity supervisor via chat, and she informed me that I needed to request an accommodation since I don’t speak English. So, my question is: who is lying? Because the supervisor from Examity, their partner, told me to request a language accommodation, while Dynatrace says there is no language accommodation.
Another thing, I paid to take the exam, and in the end, it seemed like a test to see if I could speak English or not, and it looks like I lost the money without even taking the exam.
At the end of my ticket, as my final argument, I asked them an objective question and am now waiting for their response:
Is it true that those who don't speak English cannot take the Dynatrace Associate exam because of the pre-exam?
( ) True
( ) False
I’m waiting for their response.
Thank you so much for taking some of your time to try to help me. But I’m practically giving up because, to keep my job, I needed to get this Certification, and next week will be my last on the project, and it looks like I’m going to lose my job.

Hello, @CelsoCP.
Although I have a good grasp of English, which allowed me to understand what the inspector was saying, I requested that he communicate with me via Zoom chat. Not only did he communicate with me via chat, but he also sent all the messages translated into Portuguese, so I believe this tip might be helpful to you.
When taking the exam, ask the proctor to speak with you via chat, preferably in Portuguese. You can also have a translator open on your screen with the information that you do not speak English.
Unless I'm mistaken, you can use the translator during the pre-exam. Good luck!

Hello @MayconDarós
Unfortunately, it was not possible to proceed in this way. Through the Zoom chat, I requested that we could take the pre-exam there, but it was denied. They said that Zoom chat is not the appropriate tool and that if I wanted to, I would have to request a language accommodation.
I contacted Dynatrace, opened a ticket, and they informed me that there is no language accommodation.
I'm sharing this information here in the community, because someone can shed some light and help me solve this problem.
When I tell people this, no one believes that in order to take a certification exam, which, according to the website, creates accommodations to ensure access for everyone, they offer exams in multiple languages, but to take the exam, you need to speak English during the pre-exam.
It doesn't make sense, especially considering that we're talking about technology, where logic is key.

Unfortunately you are dependent on the inspector's mood, apparently I was lucky enough to find inspectors interested in helping me overcome the language barrier by assisting me via chat, it was like that during my associate and professional exams.
However, I know people who had the test closed during the first stage due to a lack of English, as was the case in your case.
I hope that Dynatrace pays attention to this, as it is worrying that there is no way to support professionals who do not have command of a foreign language and want to become certified.

Good evening Celso, today I had a problem with accommodation because I don't speak English. The first test I took I spoke in Portuguese to the attendant without any problem, but now I can't take the test because I don't speak English. This isn't right.

Dear all, good morning.
Yes, this time I managed to take the exam, but unfortunately my focus was on the pre-exam and I couldn't pass it. I needed 72% and I only got 71%. That's right, for 1% this certification story is not over. I opened a ticket and said if you don't have language accommodation, is there a way for me to take the exam via chat? Then they informed me that yes and activated on my profile that every time I take the exam, I will be able to use the chat.
What I found strange about the new exam (as of 10/14/2024) is that when scheduling, the information no longer comes in several languages, but just English. On the website where the exam bags are located, it appears that they are multilingual.
