Change displayName of an Entity (eg. service) via API

I need to change the displayName of a great number of Services, and of course, was thinking in doing it through the API.

To my great surprise, it seems it is not possible.

Does someone know how to change the name of an entity through the API, as it can be done by the UI.

Is Service Naming rules an option for this case?

It's not an option. To make an analogy for you, I have to rename things like:

/prod/service/03   ->   Loja São Paulo
/prod/service/07   ->   Loja Rio de Janeiro
/prod/service/23   ->   Loja Salvador Bahia
