AWS Lambda (Java 8) Method Level Details/Purepaths

rputhen
Guide

Hi,

We have started using Lambda Functions using Java 8 , is there some way Dynatrace can provide the method level details of Lambda without installing an agent similar to Appmon ADK technology. Currently Dynatrace gave only the information from CloudWatch API like total invocations and errors , we are looking for some way to get the method level purepath info as our lambda is calling Amazon Aurora and we would like to know the time spend by application and Database like Dynatrace Appmon.

Lambda being a server less technology , on background amazon is using EC2 but customers wont have handle to install library or agent but they do have an option to give a JAR file as part of Lambda and also provide environment variables. Best way will be to use a tech stack like ADK as it is simple java method.

Let us know if Dynatrace can partner with us a do a POC so that we can get this done as Lambda is latest trend in market.

Thanks

Ram

I also have the same question. Thanks, Ram, for initiating it.

HI, same question/need from a customer who is using uniquely AWS services for his IoT application. The application is serverless, no capability for us to deploy any agents.

Hi,

This is technically possible and is on the roadmap, but currently not fully supported.

We are working on this and I will post here once we know more.
