Assigning Service Tag Values from Host Tags?

I'm trying to assign the value of a host level tag (assigned by hostautotags.conf) e.g. [Envrionment]role:app to a Service tag "Role" and would like to set it's value to the value of the host tag.

This doesn't seem to be possible? IMO it should be possible?

Hi Reinhard, let me know if you can see this ticket: https://support.dynatrace.com/supportportal/browse...

Long story short, from 140 you can "Apply tag to services" from process tags, and "Apply tags to processes" from host tags. So it would require 2 rules but it would work. Let me know if this would solve your case.

Best regards,

I think that doesn’t work for tags created by hostautotags.conf, plus it doesn’t work to create tags based on the VALUE of another tag. What I’d like to see is:

host tag: [Environment]role:app => service,pg,hosttag “app”

I am afraid you will have to open an RFE. I will link it to the other one about tags. Thank you
