Hi
I'm working with a customer who has to pay hosting fees for each VM their own. They were wondering if Vmotion could be configured to handle the resilience automatically so they wouldn't need multiple nodes for their server.
Only 1 VM would be up at a time and on failure, VMotion would automatically create a replica with the same IP and volumes. So apart from information stored in RAM everything should be retained.
Is this supported?

Solved! Go to Solution.
We do not have any experience with that, but as this is supposed to be transparent to the application that is running on a guest and since we persist all data on the file system, it should work - if there are any incompatibilities we cannot provide support though.
The more robust solution would be to have more than one node and potentially choose smaller nodes. This way you also have failover for non-hardware related problems.
