Is it possible to connect to more than one mongo DB in a Dynatrace Managed environment?. I have multiple mongod processes running on the same host on different ports. All these DB's are different replica sets in a 3 node cluster running on three linux servers. The authentication is set at individual DB level.
Box A: DB1-27017(REPL1), DB2-27018(REPL2), DB3-27019(REPL3)
Box B: DB1-27017(REPL1), DB2-27018(REPL2), DB3-27019(REPL3)
Box C: DB1-27017(REPL1), DB2-27018(REPL2), DB3-27019(REPL3)
The global settings page for mongodb oneagent extension only allows to connect to a single mongod instance.
If you navigate to a specific host you can disable it from using the "global" MongoDB settings and specify a specific DB on a specific port, but I am not sure if it is possible to set up multiple on a single host.
See the screenshot below take from the host "Edit" page under "Monitored Technologies":
Hopefully someone else will be able to comment if connecting to multiple MongoDB instances is possible, but I don't know if this is available out of the box and don't have a mongoDB host to test.
Let me know if you need help finding the page I screenshot.
I suspected that would be the case. Thank you for confirming.
The best way to get this put onto the Dynatrace product management team's radar would be posting this idea in the "Product Ideas" section of this forum. Reply to this thread with the post so other who find this post can upvote it as well!
Thanks for the reply. I tried that option. even with that, we can only choose one mongod per host. It doesn't support more than one mongod per host. Hope there is a way to address this as an enhancement.
