Move hosts among activegates

Hello,

We are trying to migrate one activegate to another with a new OS version, first we will create the new activegate and then migrate the hosts associated to the old activegate to the new activegate.

Is there any additional step needed?
Will it automatically associate from one activegate to another after shutting down the old one?
Is there anything else we should take into account?

Thank you very much, best regards.

Hi @adriangomez

The OneAgent automatically connects to the ActiveGate. The information is distributed from the Dynatrace cluster. Check our documentation. At the end, the following is written:

"OneAgent can connect directly to Dynatrace Cluster or it can communicate via one or more Dynatrace ActiveGates. Simultaneous connection via multiple ActiveGates is possible. OneAgent determines which ActiveGates to communicate through based on the information it receives from Dynatrace Cluster."

Once the new ActiveGate is accessible and the old one is gone, agents will use the new one. You don't have to do anything yourself, just make sure that the ActiveGate is available for the agents.
