Route z/OS traffic to Dynatrace

Dear All,

I need some endorsement related to my understanding of the following documentated statements that we must have two ActiveGates to route the z/OS traffic 1) ActiveGate with built-in zRemote code module 2) ActiveGate to receive the z/OS traffic and send it to the Dynatrace Cluster.

  • The zRemote must route z/OS traffic to another ActiveGate, which in turn routes the traffic to Dynatrace.
  • To monitor a mainframe environment you need an ActiveGate with built-in zRemote code module. The zRemote code module aggregates measurements from all z/OS code modules and sends it to Dynatrace through an ActiveGate, installed on a different host.

Regards,

Babar

Correct, for mainframe monitoring we need a zRemote ActiveGate and a regular ActiveGate as illustrated here:
