Extensions from blog: intelligent observability for Oracle and SQL databases

Hi community, I was just wondering what the mentioned extensions in this blog are: https://www.dynatrace.com/news/blog/how-dynatrace-empowers-performance-engineering-teams/

For MsSQL: Is it the "Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL - remote monitoring)" extension? Because this one existed before already. Maybe it was just updated so that dashboards/views come out of the box?

@Roman_F Not sure it is in the Hub yet.  I was looking for it yesterday also.

There were some delays in the release of this extension on the Hub and the blog post was indeed released a bit earlier than expected but it should be available very soon.

The blog post has been updated with links: https://www.dynatrace.com/news/blog/intelligent-observability-for-oracle-and-sql-databases/

Oracle: https://www.dynatrace.com/hub/detail/oracle-database/
MSSQL: https://www.dynatrace.com/hub/detail/microsoft-sql-server-2/

Note that for MSSQL/SQL Server right now it is an original extension framework extensions, whereas the new Oracle extension is in the new framework (EF2).

Do we have the extension on Intelligent observability for PostgreSQL ?

The only extension specifically for Postgres is the OneAgent version described here: https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/technology-support/dynatrace-extensions/supported-out-of-the-...

There is no remote extension available for Postgres in either frameworks currently - the generic custom database queries extension supports Postgres so you could use it to query system tables to get some health information:

Was the MSSQL (remote) extension pulled from the Hub? I set it up in a test tenant right after it was announced (back in April 2022), and I'd like to proceed to production now, but I can't find it anymore.

Thank you

Huh seems similar but not exactly the same I did in April... that one had name custom.remote.python.mssql and version 3.0.7, and this one is called com.dynatrace.extension.sql-server and version 1.1.0.

Oh well, back to testing this one then 🙂

Thanks

The 1.1.0 one is built in the new extensions framework and is what the blog post is about. The one you tested previously was created in the old framework and had less functionality and required manual deployment to the ActiveGates and such.

Thanks for the information.    The cloud rds environment, we are not able to use global user id.

And we are looking for a nice tool that will be able to provide the DB performance information.
