Help identifying Message Flow Accounting and Statistics metrics for IBM MQ / IIB in Dynatrace

Hello community,

We need to identify the exact names of the Message Flow Accounting and Statistics Records metrics so we can incorporate them into our Dynatrace dashboards.

We have tried to find the corresponding metrics within Dynatrace but haven’t been able to locate them.

Here are some of the specific metrics we are looking for:

  • Message flow name: ibm_mq_message_flow_name
  • Integration server name: ibm_mq_integration_server_name
  • Number of messages processed: ibm_mq_messages_processed
  • Minimum message size: ibm_mq_message_size_min
  • Maximum message size: ibm_mq_message_size_max
  • Average message size: ibm_mq_message_size_avg
  • Number of threads available: ibm_mq_threads_available
  • Maximum threads assigned at any time: ibm_mq_threads_max_assigned
  • Number of messages committed: ibm_mq_messages_committed
  • Number of messages backed out: ibm_mq_messages_backed_out

As far as we understand, IBM environments—especially those running middleware such as IBM MQ, IBM Integration Bus (IIB), or IBM WebSphere—should have relevant metrics available in Dynatrace. However, we are aware that the metric names might not exactly match those from IBM’s documentation and that Dynatrace may append a unique identifier to them.

Reference link to the IBM documentation for context:
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/app-connect/13.0?topic=data-message-flow-accounting-statistics-records

Is there a way to determine the exact metric names as they appear in Dynatrace? Any best practices or guidance for mapping these IBM statistics to Dynatrace metrics would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
