Oracle DB insights - Active Sessions

Got a question from our DBA.

He asks whether SYS sessions are also measured under "active sessions" and in case they are, can they be excluded?

We have some low traffic DBs and when have backup jobs running, they trigger an active sessions problem due to an increase in SYS sessions. He states only user sessions are to be considered.

The data that Dynatrace gets comes from the Oracle Database and is essentially stored in its Dynamic Performance Views, normally known for v$.... For what I know, these are fixed views, and I would not mess with them. But, eventually your DBA can do something about it, but probably that will also have implications elsewhere, eg. OEM.

This metric represents the number of session in status=ACTIVE and are not IDLE (wait_class), so SYS sessions are also included.

It will work similar in planned DB monitoring extensions, although the schema can be used as a metric dimension to easily separate those.
