CAS admin User password reset

Hi There,

Is it possible to reset CAS admin user password? If Yes, please help with steps.

Do you have 12.4 or 2017 version?


We have DCRUM 2017 version.

We have two ways to do it:


1. We have official procedure for resetting adminuser but it's working correctly starting from SP5.



  • Make sure you have RUM Console at least 2017 SP5.

  • Create support ticket and ask for token that will unlock your adminuser,

  • You will receive a long string similar to:

10b28608fcc7e3ef62f26d3251109d2eaf63ee5a6b42c751ac4bc900d49bd4392e89bcb0c0a76898a4981744ee3ae4770aa3646ba21513f9ae0401d494bde3894731cab2ea1e1ee2f5e0fb4d30d1b5b9e


  • Support personnel will tell you what is the new password encoded in above token,




    • After pasting it and pressing Submit button, your adminuser's password will have given value - you should change it ASAP.

    2. If you don't have yet SP5 or you're unable to use above recommended way then:



    • Make RUM Console DB backup,

    • Log in to SQL Studio that has an access to RUM Console's database as sa user,

    • Execute the following SQL update:

    update console.PASSWORD set ENCODED_PASSWORD = '$2a$07$ld60XoN7s54uK6BcP4LmF.pdAt6hE1aaK6P39dVyV3zLS3eW3Tp7C' where PASSWORD_ID = (Select TOP 1 PASSWORD_ID from console.password where SECURITY_PRINCIPAL_ID = (Select SECURITY_PRINCIPAL_ID from console.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL where PRINCIPAL_NAME = 'adminuser') order by CREATION_DATE desc)	

    This method is not recommended and use it only if you have to.


    • Restart RUM Console service,

    • Your new password for adminuser is Adlex123
