Can 12.3.5 AMD report to two RUM Console(12.3.5 and 12.4.2) currently?

We are planning to upgrade CAS/ADS/RUM Console to 12.4 for new features. But our AMDs have to stay in 12.3 since our organization only approved Redhead 5 for now.

I know traffic quality feature has moved to CAS in 12.4 and 12.4 CAS can't read AMD statistic data from 12.3 AMD.

I have two questions here,

1. Can one AMD (12.3) work with two Console concurrently ?

I tried. Second Console can add device successfully, but can't record traffic on AMD.

2. Can I use 12.4.2 CAS/ADS and 12.3.5 Console/AMD?

Thanks in Advance

Which new features of 12.4 exactly you want to try?

Hey YC,

  1. Yes, you can an AMD up to two RUM Consoles.
  2. Yes, 12.4.2 CAS/ADS/Console/CSS can pull data from a 12.3.5 AMD.

To Adam's point, what new features are you anticipating with 12.4? For example, a 12.3.5 AMD will not give you the VLAN information. Also, with enhanced Citrix functionality, you may not be able to utilize that with the older AMD.

You should not use 12.4.2 CAS/ADS with 12.3 Console. Console version should always be equal or higher than CAS/ADS/AMD. Also you should not add one CAS/ADS to more than one console (console sends out some configuration automatically to CAS).

As covered above, you can have an AMD connected to multiple RUM Consoles.

- However only one of them can use the live traffic feature

- You open yourself up to some weird configuration problems, if two users publish different configs to the same AMD from different consoles.
