Can AMD Load share support 3 AMD's?

bcox2

We tried to setup load share on 3 AMD's and 2 of the AMD's became unreachable by the CAS. Turned off Load Share and then one of the AMD that stopped working became functional again. We have do load share with 2 AMD's before and it worked fine, but wondering if 3 AMD load share is not possible are requires some other change.

Thanks,

Brian

To the best of my knowledge, there is no technical limit on the
number of AMDs that can be configured for load sharing, though there is
the practical limit of when the filtering involved in the load sharing structure becomes too much.

There are three rtm.config parameters involved, and all three have to be configured correctly on each AMD for the load sharing to work.

For three AMDs, this on all AMDs

sess.accept.filter.enabled=true

sess.accept.filter.fractions=3

and AMD1

sess.accept.filter.id=0

AMD2

sess.accept.filter.id=1

AMD3

sess.accept.filter.id=2

Would be the correct configuration for a three AMD load share.

Getting past two AMDs brings the question of if it would be better to split the traffic in another way rather than have the identical traffic fed to all three AMDs for the AMDs to load share.

Ok. Thanks for confirming that it should work.
