Citrix - the "Command delivery time" metric is lower than "Client RTT"

Hello,

We use DCRUM v12.2.1 on Citrix XenApp.

I am surprised about results concerning the "Command delivery time" metric. I mean the average of "Command delivery time" is mainly lower than "Client RTT". How can we explain it?

Thanks

Jerome

Jerome,

"Command delivery time" measures the time of a single, one-way data transmission on a Citrix channel. Such transmission is not a typical request-response operation, therefore it doesn't involve a full round-trip and its time may be smaller than the RTT.

Wojtek.

How AMD can measure a one-way transmission? Does AMD measure the "command delivery time" just dividing Client RTT by 2?

When the transmission consists of a single packet, then indeed the time is just ClientRTT+ServerRTT divided by 2. When the transmission is longer, the time is calculated as the difference between the timestamps of the last and first packets (plus half RTT).
