I plan on installing TCAM from
the command prompt and need some clarification on the instructions (this is a
new 64bit install). Here is the command line you should issue I pulled
from the documentation.
msiexec /i TCAM_x64.msi /qn
/L*v [PATH_TO_STORE_LOGS]\TCAM_install.log PAMD=“IP_of_performance_amd”
This is one of the examples
/i TCAM_x64.msi PAMD="188.8.131.52"AMD1="184.108.40.206"INSTALLDIR="C:\TCAM"/qn
Here are my Questions: 1) What
is the PAMD? 2) In the example they show, the parameter about the log file was dropped, is this important to specify? What happens is I leave this parameter off?
The "PAMD" parameter specifies the AMD which will receive Citrix server performance data (cpu, memory, disk utilization). The AMD* IPs will receive username data. Multiple AMDs can receive username data, while only one will get server performance data. Typically, one AMD gets both performance data and usernames, and the rest get only usernames.
The log directory parameter can be omitted.
Following-up your answer - do you know if remote installation is possible if installation file is available on some shared folder, something like in example below ?
psexec \\remote_computer msiexec /i \\fileserver\share\TCAM_x64.msi PAMD="AMD_IP" AMD1="AMD_IP" /qn
I think better documenting this on
https://community.dynatrace.com/community/display/DCRUM124/TCAM+installation+and+configuration+from+command+line would be probably some quicker to implement alternative. Explaining better the meaning of parameters and / or explaining which of them are optional would really be helpful. @Jaroslaw O. @Karolina L. any option to add it ?
