Client IP Address Not Displayed for User-Defined Software Services



In our customer environment, we have registered a business system as a software service with NAM2018.

We would like to investigate the IP address (other than site name, number of bytes, number of accesses, etc.) of clients accessing this software service frequently. However, although I created a report using DMI, no value was displayed for the dimension "Client IP".

The software service analyzer tried on both "HTTP" and "Generic" but could not display the client IP.

By the way, I was able to confirm the information of the site that is accessing this software service.

Do you think there is a problem with the definition of the software service?

Did you check you NAM Server configuration if Client IP adsresses are aggregated?

The other option is that your application is behind a NAT that overrides the real client ip address. If this is the case the IP address can be found in the HTTP header normally. You can extract this information from the HTTP header following the documentation here: You can check with the Software Service Wizard if the header is visible or not. Just do a short trace and switch to the user identification step. Here you should be able to see all header fields.
