Dynatrace NAM - Add multiple hosts in general properties

Hi,

I am currently integrating with Dynatrace NAM with Elasticsearch. For which I am configuring the properties in the Admin Consol of Dynatrace NAM but the problem is that I can only place a host for Elasticsearch, but I need to add another 4 hosts within the same line.

How can I do to configure 5 hosts instead of one?

I enclose an image of the current configuration in Dynatrace NAM.

I have also tried placing the hosts separated by commas in the ELASTIC_SEARCH_HOST property but I have an error:

118.180.XXX.XX, 118.180.XXX.XX, 118.180.XXX.XX, 118.180.XXX.XX, 118.180.XXX.XX

Hi, I am not familiar with use of Elastic, but I think this typically calls for the use of a DNS (FQDN) name entry, instead of IP(s). And one that the CNAME points to all nodes involved, with a wildcard DNS record.

In fact, googling on these keywords I ended up here: https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/cloud-enterprise/current/ece-wildcard-dns.html

Maybe this helps.

Hello Jorge,

As of Today NAM Server does not allow to enter more than 1 IP address to ELASTIC_SEARCH_HOST property. In fact, so far we didn't encounter use case when it was needed. Typically, all Elastic instances containing multiple nodes are handled the way mentioned above, in Frans answer.

I'll be happy to understand better your case, perhaps this is good idea for enhancement (which could be also suggested here https://answers.dynatrace.com/spaces/436/dc-rum-rfes-very-new.html)

BTW. on your screenshot first byte of IP address is 1180, which of course is not allowed. But I'm pretty sure that this just a typo.

Best Regards,

Jacek
