When i am running kpadmin command on AMD; i am getting below error. Can someone help me to get out of it please?
@kpa/kpacomm.cpp:104 Fatal error: cannot open FIFO /tmp/kpa_admin_s for writing : No such device or address
@kpa/kpadmin.cpp:256 Communication cannot be established
Error: Key Passphrase Agent is not running.
Also i am unable to run "Service kpa restart" on the server getting command not found.
Hi - Thanks for your reply. i am running with lower case as well.
service kpa restart
-bash: service: command not found
Also do you have any idea why i am unable to run "kpadmin" command?
In case the actual binary and associated files for /sbin/service are not
installed in the system, then you might be able to install
the following package via yum
$ sudo yum install -y system-config-services
Hi Frans - This is old set up and was working few days ago. Now suddenly when i was trying to load certificate; i got above error while running "kpadmin" command. Any idea come across about the fix in this situation would appreciated.
Thanks - Kapil
Kapil, I actually suspect that you may have an error on your disk or a filesytem got corrupted.
You may have to do filesystem check first. See this article:
And do as Jean-Louis suggested, open a support case at DT.
I have the same issue in RedHat 7.3
The actual command to restart it with systemctl is as follows :
# systemctl restart kpa.service
After restarting, it works fine again ...
Digging deeper for the origin of this issue [it happens often on multiple servers], I found that OS system cleanup is removing required FIFO files from the /tmp directory
I'll create a support ticket to suppress system/tmp cleanup for these files, or to have their location changed.
