Dear All,

How we can exclude 'All other operations' from the Software Service or/and Business Units?

Regards,

Babar

Hi Babar,

Taking a step backward, we recommend to research why you want to exclude All Other operations. Is it because they are affecting your application's availability numbers? (i.e. All other operations have some failures, HTTP 500 errors etc.)

All Other operations include operations that are not frequent enough to be reported; I would follow steps in this knowledgebase article and triage from there, just to make sure you are not masking user experience issues.

If you have already done that, then one way I exclude All Other operations is by defining a URL Regex rule in the URL Monitoring tab, add a page name for that rule (http://<server_name_or_IP_address/.*)

You can create multiple URL Regex rules if needed.

Then in Business units, for that software service, select the Task option in the dropdown list and select the "Page Name" URL Monitoring rule you defined.

Please let me know if this helps.

Harshal.

Hello Harshal,

Thank you for your comments.

I had gone through with this approach before asking the exclusion of ‘All other operations’ and below screenshot is the reference to this.

Can you please elaborate a bit more about this below options you mentioned in your comments?

  • If you have already done that, then one way I exclude All Other operations is by defining a URL Regex rule in the URL Monitoring tab, add a page name for that rule (http://<server_name_or_IP_address/.*)
  • Then in Business units, for that software service, select the Task option in the dropdown list and select the "Page Name" URL Monitoring rule you defined.

Hi Babar,

When editing the software service, go to the URL Monitoring Tab and add a monitored URL as a regular expression, such as http://<server_name>/.*

Then in the Page Name tab, give it an appropriate name.

After that, in the business units section, for that specific application, select the proper software service, in the dropdown menu, choose 'Task" and select the Page Name you configured above. Please note that you will need to wait for new traffic matching the page name criteria, for it to be available in business units

Please let me know if this helps.

Regards,

Harshal.

Hello @Harshal P.

I guess my question was wrong about the URL and Page Name.

Basically if you see my attached screenshot for the 'All other operations' which is without any breakdown request.

So I am looking the way to simply exclude from the operations explorer and also make sure this is not calculating for the availability and performance.

Babar
