HOW to automaticaly Create and Store Reports in PDF format on CAS or Network Share dedicated DIR ?

Hi Forum,

I have been asked by Several of my customers for the following service :

I did for them dedicated business DMI reports they receive regularly each day or each week or each month ... BY MAIL.

BUT They no longer want to receive their reports by mail.

They would like to ACCESS THEM using Windows Explorer by browsing one Directory they could access anytime, from anywhere on our INTRANET.

I also need to be able to add prefix to the report name to get file name like

yyyy_mm_dd - xxxxx.pdf.

Many thanks for a solution to provide this service.

Take a look at Task Scheduling

Hi Adam,

OK, perfect. This is what i was looking for.

if i have quite understood ... Now I need to write .bat or .vbs Windows script to do the job and launch it by using

"Shellcommand" command ?

Isn't it ?

No, that needs to be CAS task in XML format.

Let me make an example for you.

OK many thanks in advance ... i am looking forward to reading this.

Create C:\Program Files\Dynatrace\CAS\config\tasks-888-reports.xml flat file and fill it with:

<task ID="ExportReport01" name="Export report 01 to a file" periodType="DAY" period="1" timeLine="SERVER" offsetTime="15:20" timeout="00:10">
<command ID="01" name="Report 01 generation and export">

Then on http://your-CAS/DiagConsole#/tasks page your task will sow up:

and as stated in the task, at 15:20 every day, the "Operation Explorer" will be saved as PDF:

Feel free to ask if you need any customization.

Hi Adam,

Thank you very much.

I am surprised ... it is so simple.

1°) Is your 888 in the name of the task important ?

If i do other tasks on my own ... what are the rules for this ?

Why NOT ... only 1, simply !

2°) Would you please explain the resulting sequence for [timestamp] = 1521037200000

I would have prefer yyyymmdd.

If you know how to get this format from [timestamp], please give me the solution ?

3°) Would you please give me again the full path of the DIR where the PDF file is written ... it is not obvious !

4°) How can i manage to change this destination ... since i would like the PDF file be written by the task on a remote disk / Network drive ... on another server ... seen by the CAS, of course.

Many thanks in advance

Regards and good WE.
