HP DL380 Gen9 and HP560 SFP+

Hi

Is the DL380 Gen9 supported in combination with the HP560 SFP+ NIC? I know the current documentation states the Gen8 is supported, but I'm curious about tests done against or plans to support the Gen9 models.

Thanks in advance

André

Hi André!

According to this it should work http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=c04346247

But then I know you will ask if it works with DC RUM (smile)?

So then the question back will be -are you going to use native or custom drivers ?

But if you check the page Tested Cards  you will see that the card HP 560 SFP++ (665249-B21) is supported in both modes so you can just go ahead (tick)

Hi Ulf!

Thanks for doing my homework for me (wink)

I've had too many occasions where a newer version of a NIC, for example, caused hassles so I was hoping someone close to the dev team could chip in here - either way, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I'll cash in on that when I see you!

Honestly - it's down to the chips on the board so it's sometimes only possible to tell for sure only when the NIC is installed and you can run.

Or if you get access (you will eventually) Supported NICs with AMD custom driver

Hi Ulf,

Is the DL380 Gen9 supported in combination with the HP NC366T for the custom driver? The previous generation (Gen8) is supported with HP NC365T, however there are no updated documentation for Gen9 and NC366T yet.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Albert

The NC366T runs an Intel I350 controller, this is a supported controller.
