HTTP Availability metric equivalent in DC RUM 12.3

jonathan_lim
Guide

Hi,

I have recently did a clean install of DC RUM 12.3.4 and ported over configurations and reports from an older DC RUM setup (version 11.5). One of the metrics that they were using was HTTP availability:
(Hits-HTTP errors)/Hits.
Based on documentation, this has since been deprecated and is now known as Availability (Application)?

Surprisingly, when I imported the DMI report into the new DC RUM server, data for this metric still appears. However, if you want to create a new DMI report, you can't select this metric.

Is this a bug or is there an explanation for this?

Thank you!

Best Regards,

Jonathan Lim

Do you migrate first the 11.5 or you have just exproted the file from a 11.5 and the imported it to a 12.3.4?

There are metrics id changes from version to version. for example:

- On the 12.3, you will have that the metric id avg is the Availability(Total) and in the older version this Id was for the Connectivity.

- On the dimetion side too, you have that in the 11.X you have the parent reporting group for applications and in the 12.X we have the new dimetion that is applications

This beahviour of importing a file directly can have unexpected consecuences as for example problems on editing it or even saving it. Then if you didn't do it, it is better to migrate the CAS configuration (even in a virutal enviroment) and then import it just migrated (reports, sites, BU).

By the way the metric that you are looking for in DCRUM 12.3 is Availability(Transport)

Hi David,

Can it be said that it is a 1-1 replacement for the previous metric - HTTP Availability or is there some other dimensions that this new metric includes, based on the description of the metric, I still can't tell.

HTTP Availability: The percentage of successful HTTP hits, calculated based on the following formula 100* (Hits - Http Errors)/Hits All HTTP errors are taken into account

Availability Transport Availability limited to the transport context, calculated using the following formula Availability (Application) = 100%* (All Attempts - Failures (Transport)/All Attempts where All Attempts - all failures + all successful operations + all standalone operations + all standalone hits not classified as a failure + all aborts not classified as a failure.

Thanks!

it not far to be the same when you decide to follow all the hits (software service configuration) instead the main page hit.
