How to determine CAS restart reason?

Hi,

When examine the CAS server logs, I found somehow the CAS was restarted -- "server stopped."

Is it possible to find out the restart was caused by "CAS itself" or human "shutdown" and restart the server?

Much appreciated for any comment/idea.

Thanks

Sylvian

In the System Status view, there should be a reason posted for the last shutdown, which should be enough to distinguish whether the CAS triggered the restart, or it was by a human shutdown.

Generally, if the user triggered a shutdown of the CAS service, the reason will be 'Windows service stopped'. Another reason I've seen is that it had 'no connection to DB', which may be the case when Windows has been asked to reboot and SQL shuts down first. This is an example from my home lab, which suffered from a power outage (hence the 'graceless shutdown').
