IP address will change - what I need to change in DC-RUM configuration?

Hi all,

in the next days our customer will change the IP address of its institutional site.

What am I trying to figure out is what I should probably change in DC-RUM in order to align to new changes.

I started to analyze all the software services, looking for the "old" IP and planning to move to "new" IP.

Is this enough? Something to take care that I forgot to consider?

Thank you for your attention.

regards,
Davide

Hi Davide,

If you have defined a site for your data centre then you will need to update this as well!
If you have applications which are accessed by known IP ranges (e.g. other company offices) and these IPs are also affected by the move, then you may need to update these site definitions too.

The only other thing which I could think that might be affected is if you have any operations which go to the IP address directly rather than a URL (e.g. http://10.1.1.1/homepage rather than http://mysite.com/homepage) then you may have staticly defined operations in your software services which need updating as well as the service itself.

Henry
