Is recommended to have a front-end tier before an Oracle Form tier?

I am wondering if is or not a best practice to have a front-end load balancer tier, before the Oracle Forms.

The situation is:

- Two spans: one before the Load balancer and another after.

- Most of the traffic that comes before the Load Balancer can't be decrypted. So the Oracle Form Software Service will be created after the Load Balancer.

Since the Software Sevice for packaged applications will create some OF frontend tiers, I am not sure if is recommended to include in that Oracle eBusines application another frontend tier "before Load Balancer". Or if I should just have the Oracle Form tiers, missing the "before Load Balancer tier".

Hi Rodrigo

I'm afraid the answer is a bit yes and no. The reason for this is that if you don't have a front end tier defined then the app won' show up on the AHS.

You really have 2 options here. Configure the LB as the front end tier and accept that it won't have all the measurements or configure the tier after the LB as the front end tier but accept that it won't see the correct timings as it is within the DC.

It really depends on your requirements.
