We have come up on a situation a few times where once an application and it's transactions have been configured in Vantage Console and then deployed out to run for a few weeks, we receive a request to have the application renamed in our system. Typically this is due to applications being renamed by the line of business or to match other reporting within our company.
In these situations, if the application is renamed within Vantage Console, any transaction going forward will show correctly on VantageViiew in the reporting, however, any previous transactions are not included as they are still linked by the previous name for the application.
Is there a method in place currently to resolve this to allow the application name to change in Vantage Console and still retain the link to the previous transactions? If not, would it be possible to work with Compuware on a method to run a database function to bridge this gap?
This is not something currently within the product. My short-term thought is you might be able to add both applications as a filter to your reports, but I am not certain that is going to accomplish what you are looking to do.
